Your local Conservative team for Wallington North; Matthew Drew, Omoniyi Giwa and Alison Huneke, recently conducted a resident’s survey in the area around Butter Hill about the Council’s plans to introduce a 20mph zone in Butter Hill.
The scheme would include Butter Hill, Leechcroft Road, Caledon Road, Victoria Avenue, Lyndon Avenue, Curran Avenue, St Mary Avenue and Burleigh Avenue. This is designed to calm traffic, and encourage walking and cycling.
We wanted to hear your views and largely people seem to be supportive of the scheme.
However, it is important that if this is introduced, residents need assurances that this will be properly enforced.
Butter Hill has been a long-running problem in terms of traffic and parking. We need a long-term solution that is fair to both residents and motorists.
