Tonight Neil Garratt has been selected as the Conservative candidate for the Croydon and Sutton constituency on the London Assembly.
A meeting of Conservative Party members in Croydon and Sutton met to hear from prospective candidates to succeed our current London Assemby Member Steve O'Connell, and Neil was elected.
He has been a Councillor in the London Borough of Sutton since 2014, first for Beddington South (May 2014 to May 2018) and now in Belmont (since October 2018).
Neil lives in Wallington with his wife Cate and 3 children. He enjoys playing the saxophone, running and cycling.
Neil said: "I am honoured to have been chosen as the Conservative candidate for Croydon and Sutton. I also want to thank Steve O'Connell for all he's done for our Boroughs as London Assembly Member. I look forward to working with our Councillors, MPs and Parliamentary Candidates to do all we can to improve things for everyone in Croydon and Sutton, including tackling the important issues of knife crime and gang culture, providing new and better public transport infrastructure and delivering affordable homes while protecting our environment and special local character."
