The final stage of the Lib Dem-run Council’s failed parking strategy is about to start in St Helier, Wandle Valley, The Wrythe and parts of Carshalton Central and Wallington North.
In July the formal consultation to impose parking controls in your area will open, and this will be your last chance to have your say before any changes are made to your road.
The Lib Dem-run Council has been forced to climb down on many issues thanks to the efforts of local residents and Conservative councillors.
However, the strategy is still fatally flawed, with unanswered questions on issues such as carers and visitor permits. I believe it should be scrapped and restarted.
In addition, Lib Dem Councillors and the MP have proved difficult to contact and don’t seem to have the answers to the important questions - this is unacceptable and you deserve better.
There’s many ways you can have a say:
- Come along to a drop-in session,
- Log onto www.sutton.gov.uk/parkingstrategy and look at the specific proposals relevant to you,
- Join the resident group ‘Controlled Parking Residents Forum - London Borough of Sutton’ on Facebook,
- Look out for the consultation in July!
