Since serving its last pint in 2013, The Worcester Park pub has lain empty, slowly falling into a state of disrepair after years of neglect. There have been a number of plans or schemes developed over the last five years to develop the site in one way or another, but they have all fallen through.
However, we have just received news that the owners have put together a plan to redevelop the site into a hotel. The project team from the JTS Partnership are putting on an exhibition on Monday 16th July at 4-8pm to display their design and answer any questions that residents might have. The exhibition will be held at Manor Park Hall, 316b Maldon Road, KT3 6AU. You can read their invitation below.
Conservative councillor for Worcester Park, Tom Drummond, said: "Whilst the site falls just within the Royal Borough of Kingston, who will be responsible for approving the scheme, I would encourage all interested residents to go along to the exhibition and learn more about the plans for themselves. This site has been empty for too long, getting progressively shabbier. It is important that local residents know more about the scheme and have the opportunity to express their views before a decision is made.
