Sutton Conservatives are sad to report the passing of Nigel Forman, the Conservative MP for Carshalton and Wallington between 1976 - 1997.
Matthew Maxwell Scott, the Conservative parliamentary candidate for Carshalton and Wallington, said: "We have just learnt of the death of Nigel Forman who was the MP for Carshalton and Wallington for over 20 years (from 1976-1997). He had not been well for some considerable time and had been very frail.
"While in Parliament he was PPS to Lord Carrington at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and to Lord Lawson at the Treasury and, briefly, Minister for Further and Higher Education. After his time as an MP he returned to an academic career, lecturing and writing several books.
"Our thoughts are with Nigel's family and friends at this time."
