Tonight at a meeting of Sutton's Full Council, the Conservatives signed the Anti-Bullying Alliance's 'Choose Respect' pledge to mark Anti-Bullying Week.
Leader of Sutton Conservatives, Councillor Tim Crowley, signed the pledge alongside the Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group.
This followed a short discussion of Sutton Councillors, who unanimously agreed with an Anti-Bullying motion agreeing to lead by example and adopt the Anti-Bullying Alliance's definition of bullying. You can read the full motion that Councillors agreed to here.
Councillor Tim Crowley said: "Bullying needs to be addressed wherever it occurs be that school, in the workplace or in the political sphere.
"We feel it is vital that people treat each other in the way that they would expect to be treated, and that involves courtesy, respect and fairness. We welcome the spotlight that the Anti Bullying week shines upon this subject and are pleased to associate ourselves with it."
