Local Wallington North resident, Charlotte Leonard, has been chosen by Sutton Conservatives as our candidate for the Wallington North by-election.
Charlotte lives in Wallington North with her partner. By day, Charlotte works as a Corporate Fundraiser for an international development charity. As a local amateur dramatics enthusiast, she was devastated when the Council's failure led Sutton to have no arts facilities, and hopes to one day act again at the Charles Cryer. She's also a keen runner, so you may see her regularly running through the streets of Wallington!
Charlotte said: "I am delighted to have been selected as the Conservative candidate for the upcoming by-election in Wallington North, my home.
"Our local area needs someone to be a strong opposition and hold the Council to account, fight to improve public services such as street cleaning and pothole repairs, and ensure taxpayers money, your money, is spent sensibly.
"This is what I am speaking and listening to my neighbours in Wallington North about, and I look forward to having the opportunity to represent them."
Councillor Tim Crowley, Leader of Sutton Conservatives, said: "Charlotte will be an excellent local councillor for Wallington North who will stand up for peoples' concerns. I am pleased that she has been chosen to have the opportunity to join our strong opposition to hold the failing Lib Dem-run Council to account."
Elliot Colburn, Prospective Conservative MP for Carshalton and Wallington, said: "Wallington North residents deserve a strong, local councillor who will stand up for them. Charlotte will provide that fresh vision and leadership that our area needs. I look forward to working with her to deliver for Wallington."
