Catherine Gray has been selected as the Conservative candidate for the by-election for a new councillor in St Helier West.
A local Mum of two with family history in St Helier, Catherine also used to be a councillor in Sutton between 2018-2022, so she knows the job already!
Unlike other seemingly part-time councillors, Catherine had a nearly perfect attendance record (96% in fact)! Some of her successes include securing an independent investigation into Sutton Decentralised Energy Network (SDEN’s) business plan, which showed it to be fatally flawed, helping to hold Sutton Housing Partnership to account, and stopping the Lib Dem-run Council from permanently closing York Road, Sutton, to traffic.
She also used to work for Elliot Colburn MP as his Office Manager, helping Elliot with his efforts to support St Helier residents with their concerns.
Catherine said:
“It's an honour to be selected as the candidate for St Helier West.
"I'll be working with Councillors Wendy Clark and Steve Alvarez, our local MP Elliot Colburn, and our London Assembly Member, Neil Garratt, to fight for a better deal for St Helier.
"By voting for me on 2nd May, you will be voting to scrap ULEZ, improve St Helier and put more police on our streets."
You have a choice on 2nd May.
Another Labour Councillor giving Sadiq Khan permission to keep on ignoring us over ULEZ and crime, or our local candidate working with us to scrap ULEZ, improve St Helier Hospital and put more police on our streets.
The Lib Dems came in third place last time – they can’t win here.
If you want to scrap ULEZ, improve the hospital and see more Police on the streets, then give Catherine your support on 2nd May.
Remember, you now need photo ID to vote. You can find out more, including how to obtain a free Voter Authority Certificate, here.
